I made this card for the "Tickle a Teapotter" challenge, where we send cards to each other once a month. This month we were to make a card inspired by a book we've read. The book I chose was Amy Tan's "The Joy Luck Club."
The gold highlights and papers are much more striking in person!
This card will also work for the ABC13 challenge letter "A" for Asian.
I hoard my handmade Oriental paper, but I knew this card would go to a good home...a fellow teapotter. I die cut my scene out of glossy black paper. I put a gold sunrise behind it, layering onto my Oriental paper. I heat embossed Good Luck onto gold paper, adding green gems and a frog charm with black string. I also fussy cut leaves from Oriental paper and placed behind my sentiment, which I popped up with 3D adhesive dots. I, also, added black colored pencil around the crane, sun and flowers to make them stand out from the background. I then layered this onto gold and black layers.
To whomever, receives this card: I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed making it! Hugs
I almost forgot to thank Paulette, Parknslide, for the wonderful Asian-themed paper! Hugs, dear friend!

This card is sooo stunning Gracie! The gorgeous papers make this really extra special and so do the extra details you added to everything. I am really taken with this card and I am sure it will find a fabulous home where it will be treasured for a very long time. This frog charm adds to the "good luck" feeling this card has. Fun! ~Karen.

This is gorgeous!! I know what you mean about hoarding your Asian paper..I have a collection, too. The colors on this and your composition are perfect...this really appeals to me...maybe I'll be the lucky one to receive this luck card. Oh and that was a wonderful book.
