It is the happiest time of the month - Tickle a Teapotter. Sydney Sue is our special hostess and has given us the fun challenge of creating a card inspired by a book cover you have read.
I have just finished reading The Cave by Liam Cochrane, the inspirational and uplifting tale of the Thai cave rescue. My mojo has gone AWOL, so making a card with 12 young boys and their coach was out of the question.
The book I read prior to that was a psycho thriller but I didn't think a crime scene card would be Teapotter appropriate.
I scrolled through my book list and came across The Dressmaker by Rosalie Ham. It is a satirical tale set in the 1950's, where an outback town meets haute couture. If you get a chance to read it (or watch the movie, one of the Hemsworth boys are in it), I digress, I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
The background is a cover of an Australia Home Journal (July 1956). The lady in the middle was fussy cut and I gave her a Julie Nutting skirt.
Karen had a great challenge in January last year called Embossed Folder Stamping (TLC723). Simply smack a distress ink pad on the embossing folder, spritz with water, put cardstock in and rub the folder with your hands - no actually machine embossing.
The customary liquid pearls and a doodled border were added. Thank you for looking and I hope you get a chance to get inky and have some fun. Take good care.
EDIT: As the magazine is very thin paper I wrapped it around a piece of cardstock then adhered it to a card base.

Beautiful card, Susie, with these very glamorous ladies! I love how you added the lace and pearls. I have not read this book but did see the movie - had Liam Hemsworth in it, along with Kate Winslet - and I remember all the wonderful dresses. I can't imagine you losing your mojo but, perhaps, understandable in the current state of our world~ I hope you find it again soon, as your cards are always amazing to see in the galleries!

Oh my gosh, whoever gets this is going to flip out. I was just day dreaming about you accidentally sending it to me like you did that one time just so I could see it in person - lol!!! It would be too hard to part with it and have to mail it to the recipient though, so that would not be good. Anyway, I love that you had this magazine cover and that you redressed it and made the girls even cooler. Love all the buttons and jewels too. The book sounds fab. So glad you didn't do the cave rescue although some angels in a dark cave with hanging vines would be cool... Hugz

WOW, this is fantastic!!!!!! Reminds me of when hmmmm younger and sewed and you got the patterns from stores to make and had pics on front---great great job and to get a Miss Susie card would be really neat--the lace and pearls just finish off your card.
