The background was created by sponging using a craft sponge and a stencil from a piece of cardstock I had die cut using two long cloud dies from the Stampin' Up! (SU) "Rainbow Builder" die set. I used SU Marina Mist ink to create the background. The rainbow was die-cut using the same die set.
The raindrops were created from a free SVG file I found on the Web. I resized it using my Brother Canvas Workspace software, then digitally cut it from SU Soft Sky cardstock using my Brother ScanNCut. I sponged the edges with SU Marina Mist ink.
The two vertical banners required by the sketch were done using two types of vellum, with the flagged bottom edge die-cut using a square die. these were evenly brushed on the back with Tombow glue using a stencilling brush. I chose vellum because I didn't want to hide my pretty sky background, and I wanted the focus to be on the rainbow and its sentiment.
Both the cloud behind the rainbow and the large raindrop right under the rainbow were backed with craft foam to raise them up off the surface of the card front.
Believe it or not, I am rating the difficulty of this card as a "2" out of a possible "6". The cloudy sky background is super easy for even a beginner! The dies made the rainbow easy to create. I think this will be a great card to send to cheer someone up who is going thru a rough time.
