The background of the iris was previously done sometime last year and cannot remember if I used distress inks or oxides and spritzed with water. I inked up the iris and leaves for the first time ever using archival ink. I used my pencils to color and shade. Stamped the sentiment from Simply Sketched in Mustard Seed DOX and die cut with the 2 smallest ovals from the layering oval/stamp set. It was here that the train left the tracks...I was planning to go with thank you at the start of my stamping, but was briefly interrupted by a phone call and that was all it took when I returned and my hand, which has a mind of its own, inadvertently reached for the birthday stamp.

This is so lovely! I love the masked, inked area and how you stamped this gorgeous iris directly on that area and enhanced with colored pencil. So pretty!
