I live in Central Nebraska, and right now we are having our annual "Crane Season." My town is dubbed the Crane Capital of the World, because over a period of several weeks, over 600,000 Sandhill Cranes come through the area on their migratory paths north to Siberia and Canada. It's a sight to see - and hear! Just google "Sandhill Crane Migration Nebraska" and you will see an abundance of amazing videos and photos.
What is interesting (and a tad sad) is that many residents here do not drive the 5 miles to see them. They like to hang around the river. Sometimes if you look up you can see them flying over your house and you can certainly hear them!
I chose a soft golden yellow for my main color. The images are stamped with Brutus Monroe RAVEN INK, and colored in with alcohol markers. I fussy cut one of the single larger cranes and popped him up. The sentiment is from ON YOUR SPECIAL DAY. I chose a dark gray for the card base. One of my favorite color combinations! The enamel dots added a brighter bit of embellishment for added interest. Voilà !

Love, love this. Big origami fans in this house. I enjoyed your write-up too. One of the highlights of our holiday last year was when we drove to an aviation museum on the one day it had poured rain all morning, confining us to our tent. On the way I had spotted storks nesting on a church roof. On the way back we pulled in and watched them, and then saw the adults take off to go hunting. If we had cranes nearby I would absolutely go and see them.
