I made this before the world turned upside down, but I guess there has never been a better time to "look up" and truly see something that makes us smile. Other than the Jane Davenport colouring page, everything else on these two journal pages is done with stencils (using ink and paint).
I coloured the girl and her pooch with Prismacolour pencils, Zest it pencil blend, Copic highlights, like swish with a walnut stain distress ink foam pad, then fussy cut and adhered to the page. The background was made with distress inks and the Smack & Squirt technique - smack distress ink pad onto al foil, squirt on heaps of water, then blend the inky puddle onto the page. To get more intense colour, allow the page to completely dry, then repeat the process.
Distress inks and acrylic paint were also used for all of the stenciling. I did manage to use some liquid pearls (imagine a big smile).
Thank you for looking. Take good care everyone, be kind and remember - this is not a dress rehearsal.

Oh, gosh! So much to see on the awesome pages! The lady and pooch are fabulous, especially her in the remarkable outfit. I love the coloring of her shirt. And her jeans, oh, I wish I could get into a pair of slim jeans like that! I love her body language that she displays while standing in an awesome background. The stenciling and painting are stunning. Love the pages, mf!

I love the stenciled sentiment Susie...it is so subtle but still dark enough to read. Sometimes a sentiment can take over the whole work of art. You got it just right. The girl and her dog are so fun. What a terr ific image. Gorge ous colors. They better get their walk in before all the parks are closed.

How beautifully done! Although, many of us do not look like this, I so love the coloring and the beautiful stenciling you have done. Such an amazing creation!!!

Superb...awesome...amazing...fantastic. Love it all my mate over East. Hope that you are keeping safe and well and keeping those cruise ships out of Victoria. We are trying our best apart from the Aussies who need to be back home...and the Kiwis of course LOL. I saw the Jane Davenport book and was tempted to get it...now I definitely am LOL. I ordered some really cool Carabelle Studio stencils and Jane Davenport and Dina Wakely stuff recently. Just need to find time to play and use them although I have done more craft the past few weeks than before...the days seem to be rolling into one LOL. Hugs jx

Susie, wonderful work. My most favourite thing is the sense of scale between the dog and the wildflower. Personally I think it's always a good time to look up. I have been standing at the bus stop and seen swans fly overhead, with nobody else looking up.

Another great project with an amazing background and a beautifully coloured figure. Just two things are bothering me Susie - her top is too nice for a dog walk and secondly I hope that is a handbag and not a big bag of dog poop!
