I hesitate to use the sketch challenge keyword but I know we all have sketch fails and I decided to share mine. I found this sketch frustrating because I don't have anything that really matched the shape (I eventually figured something out, see my other sketch challenge card).
I did have a very old stencil of assorted shapes (remember stencils for scrapbooking? remember Dollar Tree's "Miss Elizabeth" line of scrapbooking/papercrafting stuff? yeah, that old!) and one looked like something I could trace, cut out, cut in half, and reassemble into the sketch challenge shapes. So I did, and punched a small hexagon to act as the third element, and...eww. No. Not at all.
But the two pieces did look pretty nice lined up straight together instead of offset, so I revamped and tried the punched hexagon in the middle. Nice, but needed a little more oomph. I had the idea of placing it in the embossing folder so the circle from the design was centered on the hex and it worked! I had already cut the light purple background piece to size, and decided to continue the circle theme by embossing it with the same folder, then assembled the pieces and added the sticker for a greeting. It needed one more thing, and I happened to have these glittery dot stickers from my last excursion to Dollar Tree before the lockdown started*.
(You guys! I had just found out about 1) the gazillion dollar tree crafting videos and Facebook groups and 2) that a nearby Dollar Tree has an expanded "crafter corner" section with stuff not in the regular stores -- made one visit and was planning to return for more pillage in a few days...the 'rona had other plans. Sigh. Anyway...I did get those dot stickers!)
So that's my story. I actually really like what I ended up with, maybe better than my successful sketch card!
Tagged USEIT2020 for using another of those Deja View sentiment stickers that must be 15 years old....just a few more to go, lol!
TFL and thanks for reading my rambling saga!

Fun, there is always a way to rescue most everything! Had to chuckle about the $ Store stash and accompanying videos. Brought back memories for me as well.
Truth be told, when I saw this card, I thought very svelte woman a navel piercing! The repeating circle patterns is now playing in my head...! Great story. Off to see your other..

Great save - on a difficult shape. Not sure I have it either. I am just rolling thru the gallery to see what folks came up with before I think in it. Love the circle theme. I thought of a model as well with a fitted dress with a super girl belt. Fun.
