This page is for Sharon's Technique scrapbook challenge to make a pocket using a junk mail envelope. As I'm currently practicing making journals and using junk, this was right up my alley lol.
It will also go against the Alpha challenge N = Nails, and the Ways to use it challenge to tear it up.
This page is part of a travel album on our visit to the UK in 2017 to surprise my sister who was recovering from major surgery. We had a chill day and I gave her a manicure and pedicure and myself. We hadn't done something like this together since we had lived at home together. Over 40 years ago...*cough, cough*...*wink*
The pocket was simple to make. After cutting I simply added some vintage paper and sponged the edges. I'd watched a video on junkjournalideas and wanted the postcode to show in the window but my envelope didn't have one, so I cut another envelope up, sponged it and slipped it inside the window. Sounds easy but not as easy as you think and glue can get everywhere lol.
I also decided to add some patterned papers inside the top of the envelope and sticking those babies in was a bit tricky too, but after sticking and having more glue on me than the pocket, I finally got there lol.
Emphera was either stamped or patterned papers glued on the back. I like lace and found some lacey border stickers in my stash so added a few of those and emphera and mesh. First part done.
It was at this stage I decided to make it a flip picket.....details and photo on my next post.
TFL. Keep well and safe and happy creating.

Wonderful shabby chic. Loved your list of techniques. I laughed at the glue. DH often wonders what has happened to the skin on the back of my hand...it's usually a thin layer of glue. I love the border stickers and flowers on the front, and the white stencilling over the hot pink.
Wow! You are good! So many challenges. I am so glad you included mine. This is a gorgeous vintage page and love that you have photos of you and your sis with your nails. Thanks for playing!

Oh my Jayne, what a treasure of a pocket filled with so many goodies - and even better, fabulous memories of time spent with your sister. You have a terrific eye for picking out beautiful vintage elements and putting them together (which is something I am terrible at doing) that I so admire. Not only are you making a wonderful piece of artwork to treasure your memories with, but it is gorgeous too! I love everything about this Jayne! ~Karen.
