My card for the Teaparty for Pixie, A Coffee Party! Hmm, I guess we're mixing our drinks now!
I'm not sure if this qualifies as "ink-blending", which is part of this Teaparty challenge, but I did "blend" the DOX inks directly onto a plate & spritzed them to mix them, then smooshed the coffee filter into the whole mess! I really like the bit of red from the Fired Brick DOX on this. When the filter was dry, I stenciled the coffee rings & splotches with the Vintage Photo DOX & a blending brush.
I sponged all the edges of all the pieces with the Espresso Truffle ink.
Then I adhered the filter to a panel of white CS, layered that onto a panel of textured brown CS. I fussy-cut the PP strips into banners, & attached them with the mini-stapler.
Stamped the cup, steam, beans & sentiment onto a panel of tan CS & die-cut that with one of the stitched square dies. Layered that onto another panel of textured brown CS, & popped it up onto the card front with dimensionals.
I forgot how much fun it is to use coffee filters to make a background! Here's the one I sort of followed to make this one.

I bet the texture is great with having used a coffee filter (and Pixie is sure to recognise it). Clever idea, Liz. I really like those little banner strips, and I think the decorative stitching on the square makes it look like a pretty place-setting.

This fabulous card feels like a warm cup of coffee Liz! Ummmm, I can almost smell the coffee too. The colors are so warm and satisfying and this background; I have never heard of using a coffee filter to do a background before and I sure do love it! Thank you for sharing a link to the tutorial on how to do this too. Your playful banners and the delicate stitching around your coffee cup add to the warmth of this wonderful card! ~Karen.

Hmm... using a coffee filter? That is perfect for this card themed on coffee. Love the technique, makes great texture! Especially love the colors you used!
