This card is for 2 challenges. The F4A challenge and also for the Alpha challenge. Z = sunshine Zest
I still must think it's Friday as I'm in a mixed media phase today. I had made this print last night using a new textured plate that had been sitting in my stash for a few months. First pull didn't come out great but I loved the effect. I also wanted a sun on a panel so I could go in the F4A challenge.
The panel was much bigger, as is the plate. I wanted some rays on there and it was only when I raided my stash that I realised I had sun stamps and die cuts but no sun stencil (one to add to the list even though I'm not buying this year *wink). Another light bulb moment and I'm thinking improvise.
I had a sunburst die and my squishy pad and knock knock plate...as a lady on YouTube told me once when I was learning about my Big Shot....so off I go trying to emboss, but I caught myself early....try first on a piece of scrap paper. It didn't work. It cut the die lol and didn't emboss. I really must check that video again.
So that's where I find myself sponging coral and yellow and pink...yep there is pink there somewhere.....through the die cut to add some rays. Phew saved and I'm pleased I'm having some lightbulb moments today.
A lot of ladies on this site know I never know when to stop...stamping, adding and as you can see, giving descriptions lol, so out come my mixed media stamps. I'm still thinking Friday here. I also had another stamp set that had been sitting in my stash for a while and I'm stamping that around the edges.
Didn't like that so I cut the panel down. Phew thank goodness it's a big one. As you can see I had to leave some squiggles on there. I also wanted to have some splodges so out comes another stamp and again I stop myself as I ink it up in black.....thank goodness for scraps around the place. Black is tossed and I'm back to the coral...another phew.
Twine added and plonked on the card. This is where I didn't stop myself and had my first doh moment. I'd forgotten to distress the edges. Off it comes and I manage to do this without getting ink everywhere. That's a first. Plonk it back on the card base when I spot a piece of black CS on the floor. Where has that come from!
Another doh doh moment as I'd cut this earlier to add as a border behind the card. Panel back off and lots of huffing and puffing and I recover the situation.
Now for the sentiment...I raid my stash again and see a sentiment perfect for my card as I didn't want it to take away from my sunshine. I'm feeling pretty happy with myself as it's another stamp set I bought last year and not inked up...that's quite a few today. Gold star moment people lol.
First stamp was wonky but the second was ok...lots of phew'ing happening. Edges distressed when I decide to distress the bit of paper...it sort of looks muddy but I've added sparkle and it's sort of like my coffee dyed papers I did recently. Bling added and more sparkle and I'm pleased as punch. Not only have I made another card but I didn't get ink anywhere.
There certainly was lots of zest used to make this....and I know I'm not the only one who has trouble with their inks and plonking lol
TFL. Happy sunshine day

Fantastic creation Jayne! I love all that plonking, sponging, cutting and rethinking...tear apart, cut some more, experiment on scraps and voilà!
Another amazing piece of artwork! Your brain must hurt after all that, but your heart must be happy! LOL I love the sun's one eye bling!

You write like Susie...I mean that in the best possible way. Well after all that, that panel looks awesome. One never quite knows what one will end up with. That sun is uber cool.

Ooh, I love this card...every inch. You had me smiling (and, I needed that) as I read your post and about you huffing and puffing. What a delight and glad I saw it this morning as it brightened my day. Love that sun!!!

I love this, Jayne! Wonderful sun image and, of course, your green card base is a favorite with me! Again, I love the write up, such fun to read about your creative process. Very cheerful card!
