This card is for the CAS challenge and also for the Alpha challenge for I = in...or maybe I spy a butterfly lol.
When I saw the CAS challenge yesterday I knew I wanted to have a go. It was only when I was packing up my craft room last night that I spied my 3 gelli plates I had bought last year and only used once. Nothing like just before bed to get them out.
I'd also got a new textured plate last year and wanted to use it for another challenge...watch out for that card. The plate is awesome and these prints were second pull so you can't see the stamp. In fact there's more ink left on the plate than on these prints....and it looks really cool.
I digress.....so I'm thinking I can use these prints for the CAS challenge, so that's how this came about. I was going to put all 3 shapes on the card but they are too big so after cutting them down I felt they needed more of a mixed media touch even though it's not Friday *wink*
I'm a big fan of butterflies and stamped one on the prints and was going to sort of do a jigsaw puzzle with them but part of the butterfly was missing. That's when I had my lightbulb moment..I get them now and again. Why not stamp the butterfly directly onto a card base and then plonk my shapes on top. Gosh I was pretty pleased with myself for thinking of this and especially on a Tuesday and early in the day.
If the CAS challenge had been b&w I would have left it at that as ooh that butterfly is yummy. I'll save that thought for another time.
I did want to pop one of the shapes up but I know we have to try and be one layered and I'm not a one layered girl. I'm also not a clean stamper. No amount of baby wipes was going to get CP's black off my hands today...I have seen her video and should have known lol, so some of it is on my nice clean white CS. Instead of a lightbulb moment I was having kittens....well eek'ing.
Another lightbulb moment and I remembered I had a rubber (eraser to some of you) somewhere that was supposed to remove ink. Unfortunately I have a few rubbers together in my drawer and couldn't remember which one so I tried them all...as you do. Unfortunately some remove the CS....more kittens and eek'ing.
I'm breathing and more eek'ing and out comes my dotty stamp which I had already added to my butterfly, and as things are in thirds today I added more dots in 3 places. If I hadn't already added my sentiment I could have popped it on there...even though it is supposed to be CAS lol.
Doodle and done and my hubby thinks I'm a clever little thing. If only he knew how messy a stamper I am. Now you know why I like mixed media so much lol.
TFL and sharing my journey today....I'm having fun and have very inky black fingers.
Happy day
