Decided the original was too bland (I had stamped and 'cardified' it a couple years back); pulled it out of the card hospital to give and after posting decided I really needed to up game a bit. I trimmed the originally stamped image down to get rid of the rough white borders, mounted it onto a small piece of Eggplant Envy then onto a small piece of white CS. I ran a fresh piece of Eggplant Envy through SU Subtle embossing folder then trimmed it down a bit before mounting to the card front. At the last moment I decided to mount the layered/matted image onto foam tape for some dimension. I am much happier with this upped version of the card.
Regarding the technique, don't know what it is called.
The background uses a stamp image consisting of mostly solid rubber with images in the negative on the rubber.
Ink up the background stamp with the background color then take a darker water-based Write Marker and go around all the edges of the negative images on the rubber. Lightly mist the inked up stamp with water then stamp the image onto white cardstock.
For this card I used white craft ink and Misti to stamp the birthday greeting.
