I saw Kathy's card a few days ago while looking up some old paper and stamps. I loved it and thought it would be great for this week Alphabet Challenge for Letter Q for quilt. I found some DSP in my stash for the Challenge Colors. On thin white paper, I started with a square and then laid half inch strips as Kathy did, alternating the colors. It's a modified Herringbone pattern. As I progressed along, I thought about it could work for the Sketch Challenge. When I cut the final piece, I positioned the square to the right to use as the #5 element and then embossed the panel to give it texture and a quilted look. I die-cut a scalloped border.
For the dessert option on the Color Challenge, I used a preprinted quote on vellum. A little adjustment to the sketch, I used a strip across the panel rather than half way. I meant to wrap the strip around and glue on the back before adhering the quilt piece, but I forgot. I was able to pry up the sides a little and tuck in the ends, but it was loose. I used two smaller embossed & die-cut hearts and a dot to cover up some glue. Vellum is tricky to adhere but there are ways!
Once in a while it is fun to make a card with so stamps or ink. Thanks for looking.
