This card was made for a chemotherapy patient who I was matched up with to send cards weekly through Chemo Angels (http://https://www.chemoangels.com/) It is for one of those weeks where things don't seem to be going particularly well, but with friends' help you'll get through it.
The card is very quick to make, and quite easy. I used the cute turtle from the Stampin' Up! (SU) "Back on Your Fee" stamp set. He is stamped using Memento Tuxedo Black ink since I wanted to use my Copic alcohol-based markers to color him. The colors I used are listed in the supplies table below.
The sketch I was using determined the elements of the card. For the horizontal strip, I used SU Pear Pizzazz that I dry embossed using the SU 3D embossing folder "Hammered Metal". I thought it looked like the wrinkled skin of a turtle leg, so it would work perfectly.
The little leaves and branches on the right were fussy cut from SU "Animal Expedition" Designer Series Paper (DSP), and glued onto the white background.
I wanted the turtle element to be raised above the card surface, so cut a piece of green craft foam just a bit smaller than the light green background of the turtle and glued it to the back.
I'm rating the difficulty level at "2" out of a possible "5" simply because of the need to color the turtle and fussy cut the leaves.
I hope this makes her feel better knowing that she is in my thoughts.
