Today's challenge for our monthly tickle swap is Wabi-Sabi and Kintsugi. Both are Japanese philosophies. Wabi-Sabi is the acceptance of imperfection and flaws and the impermanence of life. Kintugi is an artist technique using powdered gold, silver or platinum to repair pottery and lacquerware. It has become a philosophy to live by: we have all been broken by some event in our lives, divorce, death, estrangement, job loss and we can become even more beautiful and worthwhile when we have worked on repairing ourselves.
This CAS card is symbolic of a broken heart. I think one is lucky if one gets through life without having a broken heart. There is even some research on broken heart syndrome. I used my artist purchased anatomical heart, added some gold gel pen to create 'repairs' and a lovely sentiment.

Love the symbolism here and I agree it's rare for someone to escape heart-break. I like to think that with each broken heart I endured, I became a stronger person.

Great sentiment, wonderfully paired with your heart image. I remember telling Susan about an exhibit I had seen in a glass exhibition here, jewellery sized pieces (but I am sure they would have been too fragile to wear), in the shapes of various organs like the liver, lungs, heart, in blown glass with little objects inside.
