I was really taken by this beautiful shirt at today's Inspiration challenge site. I'm also on a Mr. Rogers kick and had looked up a quote that I wanted to use yesterday and found a bunch more! Change and butterflies go together....usually we think of chant at the beginning of a butterfly, but I was intrigued by the way this one is changing as it ends as well. It went perfectly with the quote.
Stamped in Versafine Onyx and embossed in black. I only inked up part of the image and used a very light marker on just the edge of the rest to get the empty space. I embossed with black ep. I then used paintbrushes to add the distress oxide paint spray to the butterfly. I took a soaking wet gauze to dab over the area where the color is to fade out. I used both the brushes to create spatter and also sprayed from the bottles using paper to block off areas where I didn't want spray. I also wrung out watered down droplets from the gauze. I dried this then added my quote, writing in Sharpie. I took my Elegant Writer pen and added ink on the underside of the letters I wanted.to bleed and then used water from a waterbtush to activate the ink.

My daughter and I went to see the movie about Fred Rogers and we loved it. We were so moved! A friend gave me a biography for Christmas. This is a gorgeous journal page. I love how you have the wing fading. You are so right there is still another beginning for us even when it looks like we are at the end!

WOW - This end of cycle rendition is just captivating and tugs at my heart strings. It elicits SO many memories of my mom's recent passing as we watched her literally fade away before our eyes . . .
