Featured Stamper hosted by Nancy to honor Monique who is niki1. Her gallery is amazing and her craftsmanship is astounding. I have long admired her work. Fun tidbit: Monique and I started our SCS galleries in the same month and year.
I had some very old SU DSP set aside to play with, along with the coordinating stamp set. Monique's beautiful paper reminded me of the DSP and she inspired me to stamp directly on it with these two-step rose bud stamps. I used the colors that were used on the paper designs, both are retired. The two part rose bud was first stamped off in Cranberry and then stamped full strength. The rose base and stem and the first layer of leaves were stamped in Moss and then the leaves detail were stamped twice due to the Moss being a lighter green. The sentiment was stamped in the Cranberry. Monique's lovely die-cut frame led me to use these dies for the rose and the sentiment. The DSP designs look distressed and textured. I layered on a DSP, Moss which I distressed and sponged the edges just a little, and then a Cranberry card base. I will be mailing my card so I kept the embellishments to a minimum and used a few small pearls and a wood rose. Thank you Monique for sharing your gorgeous artwork with us and for inspiring me to be creative today! TFL
