I'm playing catch up on the Alphabet challenge. This is my entry for the letter V - Valentine.
This is a panel I made and then didn't use, unfortunately, that means I don't remember what colors I used to create it. I do remember that I followed this wonderful tutorial here on SCS: Layered Batik Resist Tutorials at Splitcoaststampers There are a lot of great resources right here on SCS.
When I sat down to make my V card, I had already decided on a Valentine. I pulled this panel out and thought I'd like to add a diagonal element which made me think of the diagonal fold card which is simply one half sheet of card stock cut in half diagonal from corner to corner. From there you score at 4 1/4 on the one side and 5 1/2 on the other to get your card shape. Then decorate as you prefer.
I used a white card base, decorated with my panel trimmed in half (it started with dimensions of 4" x 5 1/4". I die cut a scalloped oval from white glitter paper, a light pink oval from Pink Pirouette, and heat embossed the sentiment. I added a little silver thread between the pink and white layers.
Thanks for looking!

This batik background is really gorgeous Catherine and looks even better with this fun fold card you created! Your use of sparkly thread behind the sentiment panel is fabulous. ~Karen.
