After living in my apartment for over 20 years, I'll be moving in a few months so I really had to get serious about that overflowing box of unfinished project pieces and extra stamped images. (I'm guessing I'm not the only one with one of those) In any case, the other week I whittled it down to a small pile and challenged myself to use each item by the end of 2020 or trash it. Today I had a chance to play in my craft room and came across this dry embossed dove, left over from a Christmas card set I made in 2012 (about time, right?). I didn't think I wanted to use the matte white, but found I still have the embossing folder, so I pulled out some leftover shimmer cardstock and dry embossed another. (The original is going to be turned into a totally white on white version). I trimmed around the embossed border then attached to a fill layer for some dimension.
I then pulled out my favorite MFT In&Out stitched square dienamics to create a frame, as well as the Gina K gold mat. I made a fill layer for the frame then inlaid the stitched gold square before attaching my embossed dove.
At this point, I thought it was a little plain so I played around with some sentiment strips but just wasn't liking them. So I dug out some SU pearls that I've had FOREVER and used the die cut stitching as a guide to create a nice tone on tone border for my aperture.
A double win - one Christmas card finished and I've made use of some long neglected supplies.
TFL.

Your embossed dove is beautiful and so glad you didn't trash it. I know we all have left overs and I need to clean mine out. What a chore! Your card is so elegant with the gold and pearls.
