Another card for Dina's Opposites Attract MIX challenge. It would have been easy to just stick with watercolour, but to MIX it up, I used gelatos for the background, and in the end I also used some metallic rub-ons over the embossed base.
Image stamped on watercolour paper, coloured loosely with gelatos and softened with babywipes. Repeated a couple of times to get good colour.
The seahorse, uncoloured, was already die-cut and ready to go. I used Inktense pencils (his tummy is really a mix of the orange and the aqua), and then covered the body with Versamark, did one layer of clear EP, and then one layer of UTEE so it has a slightly knobbly finish. There are Stickles on the wings, and drops of Glossy Accents on the water bubbles.
I trimmed it and matted it on black Bazzill Bling, and then spent forever trying to come up with a background. Discarded a lacy border. Discarded some die-cut netting. Went with the base embossed with stars, and then decided that copper rub-on was close enough to orange, and added that. Remembered some fun star buttons a friend gave me many years ago, and added them along with some sequins and some dots of white Enamel Accents.

Oh my goodness Sabrina this is pure mixed media magic. I loved reading your description, especially as I forgot all about metalic rub-ons. Gorgeous card my friend. (I wish I hadn't already done my favs list. Xx

Absolutely fabulous...every inch of this is amazing. The embossed bg is just perfect and I love the mix of sequins. That sea horse is such an awesome color. Love this work of art.
