So my idea was to use an empty chocolate box and when you opened it, it would be flowers instead of chocolate--well that seemed a little bit mean...So when I found a clear acrylic box of chocolates I knew what I was going to do.
The box really only functions as a clear envelope and was a mold or shaper for the flowers.
I used the paper heart insert as a pattern to make a sturdy poster board base heart and covered the back side of it with a plain green DSP--you could write on it if you wanted to. Then I built the flowers on top of the cardboard.
Pink flowers are from Magnolia Memory Dies.
Blue flowers are the Blossom Punch.
White flowers are from the Botanical Builder set. I used little yellow pompoms, yellow enamel dots, and pearls as the center of the flowers.
Sentiment is from Abstract Impressions stamp set, stamped on Birthday Banners stamp. I had to piece the sentiment together and reshape the banners to do what I wanted. Even then, if I had it to do over again, I would use different colors and stamp the sentiment in versamark and emboss it in gold.
Who is the recipient? Well, DH is a member of the calligraphy club and their big party of the year is a Valentine Exchange party. Most of the cards are decorated with beautiful calligraphy. I don't do calligraphy, so I have to make up for that with my card making experience. (The number on the edge was for the exchange.)
It was well-received, so I am happy!
What did I do with the chocolates? (Hint: See my next post...)
