This card started when I was playing with a die I got last year and never used. I tried cutting it from a scrap of designer paper and loved the look of it, and also realized it would make a perfect âeoedividing lineâe for last week's sketch challenge, which was rolling around in my head because I wanted to attempt it.
I used an oatmeal card base and stamped it with the Hero Arts handwriting stamp, and used the same ink to edge the card. I cut the red and brown pieces from cardstock and trimmed them then attached together. I added the heart strip and the sticker. The white of the sticker was a little to harsh so I sponged it lightly with the sepia ink and ran the edges over the ink pad. The ink appears pinker in the picture than in real life!
I haven't decided how much I like this yet. I think I'd like it better if the handwriting stamp was large enough to cover the whole card front. I decided to tilt the main element from the sketch because centered with the blank space around the edge looked too, I dunno, matchy-matchy. I do love the look of that heart strip combined with collage-look papers, I think I'll be playing with that more!

Your pattern and color combinations are very eye-appealing. Love that heart die-cut heart and its paper pattern, which is a great choice to coordinate with your oatmeal background and brown script. Nice take on the sketch by angling your top panel...adds a lot more design flair!
