As soon as I saw this challenge Gold Leaf jumped into my mind and then this Unity stamp. I just couldn't help it and I will have to admit I use this stamp quite a lot, I love it's quirkiness.
This is going to be my DH's Valentine card and the worst part of that is he won't be able to critic it.
We don't really do Valentine but being a card maker I really can't let an opportunity pass lol.
So what did I do....not much really, I stamped and heat embossed the Unity image in the gold, smeared some foil paste around the edges of the topper then applied the foil. This was all last night then off and on today I came back to it stamping the two leaves on some old alcohol ink background in the stash, heat embossing in gold and dry embossed them to curl.
I attached them with a dab of Tombo glue then realized I really should have left that till last...ho hum just had to be careful I didn't squash the leaves for the rest of it which was gluing some craft foam to the back of the topper, then attaching the topper to the base.
I was going to use SU Shimmery White for the base but it is more a warm white to the brilliant white of the blending paper so instead and because I wanted the base card to have a little interest I used X-Press It blending card for both the topper and the base and spritzed the front of the base card with home made glimmer mist made up of Perfect Pearls Biscotti and water ...my favourite glimmer spray. You probably can't see this in the photo but it just gives the card a little bit of "je ne sais quoi"
I attached the foam backed topper to the base with high tack double sided tape and finished the card off with a strip of the alcohol ink background and more of the blending paper to give the back the same weight as the front and there you have it.
Thanks so much for looking and happy stamping.
Hugs Marg.
