You can find the WTUI challenge HERE. This is one of the samples I made. This was for a friend of DH's, whose birthday is tomorrow - so DH chose the verse he wanted me to use.
I used a wax stick from the manufacturers of Brusho to rub over the piece of card while it was laid in the embossing folder, and then applied three different blue distress inks. Matted on silver, added the sentiment also matted on silver. The anchor was cut twice, once from the silver and once from matt gold, which I used for the rope.

Sabrina this is gorgeous! I love the EF you used and the anchor is a great finishing touch to the card. It has been a long time since I used a wax crayon on an emboss folder. I tried the wax paper this week on the emboss folder and was really surprised by the results and made a few cards because of how quick they were to make the BG.

What a fab birthday card for DH's friend. I love the bg, and the anchor with silver and gold is just wonderful!

Another bunch of gorgeousness...so the ink resists the wax (or vice versa). Very interesting. This looks so fun! Thanks, Sabrina, for a great challenge.

What a wonderful background for your scripture verse...perfect for a masculine birthday, Sabrina! The wax rubbing technique is one I have never tried, but am inspired to give it a try.
