I chose a valentine card by Maria, as I wanted to get started on them. She layered some hearts and I used 2 layers on mine, placing them on an alcohol inked BG I made, using glossy black paper. I applied blending solution to the glossy black paper, then used some pearl mixative to help the colors show up on the black. The colors were added, along with some gold mixative and I let the panel dry. The hearts were cut from pink and red, layered and place don the BG. I used a strip of vellum for the embossed sentiment. Here's Maria's cute card.

Sue, this is really pretty. I love the 2 layer heart in pink and RED against the dark bg.
