The Clean & Simple Challenge this week (CAS568 - What am I saving it for? - 1/13/2020), was to use something from your supplies that you have been hoarding.
It was a stretch, but I made myself use 3 things that I had been reluctant to use - they definitely qualified as hoarded items!
The items are:
1) pink colored Woodgrain paper
2) heart shaped rhinestone
3) mini wobble element used underneath the bear
My new stamping resolution this year was to immediately use stamping product when it arrived - my goal was to stamp samples of any new stamps that came in and cut dies from any die cuts that I bought. The bear image you see here is from a brand new set that I ordered from Hero Arts. It arrived yesterday and it is called Unbearably Thankful - is that not the cutest name ever?
As I said, my goal this year is to get ink on any stamp that comes though my door, so this little Bear is now stained and showing signs of being well loved! I stamped it in Hybrid Ink on Bristol Smooth CS so I could use alcohol inks...unnecessary because I ended up using Prismacolor watercolor pencils and a Dove Blender brush to color the image.
I messed up when cutting the colored Woodgrain paper and it barely fit in back of the opening...I intended it to be larger so that I could pop up the top panel with foam and tuck the bear inside the opening.
After that goof, I realized that the bear would have to sit on top of the diecut panel. I thought he looked kind of uninteresting just glued on, so I decided to break out one of my mini wobbles from Taylored Expressions and have him bob and dance on the card front.
I chose cute hugs sentiment especially for a dear friend who is going though a rough time right now. She will smile when she sees the sentiment and when Mr Bear dances, she will be delighted!
This was a fun card to make, made even more so by the flubs that caused me to dig deeper into the creative cave of my stash for supplies. Please join us in this fun challenge and find something that you have been saving and pull it out and use it. Looking forward to seeing your card for this challenge!
Thanks so much for spinning by and looking at my wobbly bear. Happy bear hugs to you!

This is such an adorable card for your friend. I like that you decided to make your bear dance and wobble. Awesome tree die cuts, too. I am sure your friend will be cheered up with this card.

I have had so much fun in this gallery, because I know I'm not alone. LOL! I chuckled as I read your list of things you used, because I would hoard those things too. That pink wood grain paper is just perfect for your sweet bear! I love the cute punched flowers with the gem centers in his bouquet. I also love your crafty resolution. I've realized this year that my resolution to use old stamps has left my new stamps to be neglected. It's a difficult balance.

Susy, I was not up to making a card for this challenge (bad cold here), but just had to comment. This is adorable. The bear peeking into the foresty diecut, makes me think of that song..."if you go down in the woods today...from the Teddy Bear Picnic song! I am sure your friend will just love this delightful card!
