This is going to a senior lady who likes blues and black, flowers and was a quilter in her younger years.
I had previously stamped this hydrangea in black and watercolored in Navy and Pear. I didn't like it for the project I was doing at the time, but it works nicely for the recipient of this card. The Stampin Up DSP is a long retired and one-sided paper; I thought it had a fabric look to it. To use more, I attached strips on the inside & a piece on the envelope flap.
Technique Challenge: faux stitching with piercing & drawn stitches: I poked around the edges of the top panel with a piercing tool and a template for a guide, and then drew on faux stitches with a Zig marker.
Sketch Challenge: A simple design dressed up with an extra layer and a die-cut edge. The edge is cut on the card front showing the inside of the Pear Pizzazz card base. The sentiment is heat embossed in white on a Night of Navy scrap and punched out.
Thanks for looking!

just lovely, Diane! I like you also used a piece of the dp for the envelope flap. That edgelit die is gorgeous and looks like quilting. Your crafty recipient will love getting this.

What a lovely card! Great idea to use pieces of the dp to coordinate the envelope and inside of the card. I especially love that beautiful white layer - so delicate looking.

The thumbnail grabbed my attention because of the blue hydrangea. When I opened it, that edge with the scallop took over, it looks just lovely. And a matching envelope! You sure nailed that blue/black combo. Wonderful!
