Happy New Year Color Challenge artists! I am honored to have been asked to play along with the team for the month of January. I hope to feel the colors coming our way and use them well.
Today our hostess, Barbara (bejoice) has given us Early Espresso, So Saffron, and Balmy Blue. A very pleasing color combination. And it reminds me of mid century modern color ways. That sent me in search of my TH 'Atomic Elements' and 'Festive Repeats'. Last weeks Sketch Challenge is the springboard for my layout.
I used My Mind's Eye DP for the groovy boomerang, star, galaxy, and the diamond panel is Balmy Blue. The Early Espresso panel was paper crimped. Great texture. I took dessert, which was trees. My bark was gathered on a walk in the neighborhood a couple of months ago. I peeled off a bit for the upper corner. The fun definition stamp for Bohemian was placed on an acetate tag. I love that word...it reminds me of all the things I could use to describe friends who live in the flat screen of our computers! How about you?
Thanks for stopping by, I'd love to hear how you 'see' these colors. Energy positive? or Cozy inspiring.

I was immediately attracted to the design as I grew up in the era where the atomic age was gaining momentum. Many of the elements in this remind me of my Star Trek, Jetsons and Flower Power childhood! Love that stamp!!! Gotta get that for my youngest daughter who is very Bohemian.

Susan, this is quite interesting and I love it. Your Balmy panel is really cool and the whole card fits your Bohemian definition. I really like that you printed it on acetate for a special look. Enjoy your time as a CC hostess - I look forward to your combinations.

You have a way with arranging elements that is so pleasing and interesting. I love all variety of items here, especially that birch paper and the cosmic pieces. The Bohemian moniker could be used to describe your style...very free spirited...

I love the direction you took with this. The mid century idea and atomic elements work so well with the bark adding a delightful twist. It is wonderful to have you joining us this month!!!

I echo Polly; you have a gift for arrangement. I will give this a go, as I told you. I actually like these colors, because they seem harmonious. So fun to look at all your elements.

This is terrific, Susan! The mid century retro vibe is wonderful & reminds me of some plates my mother had. I always called them the Jetsons' plates because they reminded me of the imagery on the cartoon. One of my fave cartoons...I always thought I grow up & have Rosie the robot & door that served up instant meals. Thanks for the memories!
