This card is for my niece and her family. They moved into their new house (brick fronted) 2 weeks before Christmas - yikes! They managed to get settled in and decorated before Christmas, thus the Christmas look to this card.
I used a white cardbase to start. I adhered the designer paper (it has hills and bare trees with cardinals in them) to the top half of the card. Diecut some snow banks, added a bit of shading and some Wink of Stella and added it to the bottom half of the card. I diecut, stamped and colored with Copics the tree, lamp post and snowman and also adding some Wink of Stella to each.
The house base was diecut in white, the middle layer die was cut out of blue vellum and the top layer and chimney were cut out of a white and rustic red colored designer paper sandwich. I created the bricks with a gray pencil. I added yellow Copic the first floor of the base diecut to show lights on in the house. The second layer was glued on to the base. The top layer was also glued down except for the door, which I kept white and will open and shut. The roof was diecut from gray cardstock and black pencil was used for shading the shingles. The shutters were diecut from black cardstock. I created the wreath from a scrap of green d.p., fussy cut a circle and punched a 1/8" hole in the center. The doorknob was punched out of a scrap of gold with a 1/16" hole punch. I drew the bow and fussy cut it to add to the wreath. This may sound tedious but it was definitely a labor of love
I stamped the sentiment and added the snowman beside it - he looked like he was welcoming them to their new home.
Thanks for taking a peek.

You are right, this really was a labor of love, and it's special for your family members. I love the snowman right next to the sentiment and the red birds in the bare trees. Such a precious card~
