Some people choose a word to reflect their hopes, dreams or whatever for the New Year. I've never done that, but decided I would. Actually I chose a phrase: see clearly.
That brought to mind the song 'I Can See Clearly Now', recorded by Johnny Nash in 1972 and Jimmy Cliff in 1993. This should be the theme song for all optometrists and ophthalmologists in 2020, don't you think????
I spent a lot of time in optometrist and ophthalmologist offices from the ages of 2 until 8. I was always intrigued by how dark it was, the strange contraptions and that box with all the lenses. I remember my first surgery at age 2. I remember waiting for my eyes to dilate (took a long time back then) and I remember the surgery at age 8. I don't remember being scared ever, except when I was 2, had to be strapped down so I didn't pull on the bandages and wanted my Mom to take me home. She would lean over the crib I was in and try to comfort me.
I used yesterday's sketch and today's WT: tone on tone. I clear embossed the background stamps. I used acetate for the large lens, embossed in black and mounted on a black circle. The other two circles are a pair of heavy glasses one has to have on during an exam.
I'm not sure why the sentiment is 'wink of an eye' instead of 'blink of an eye.' Or maybe it works both ways?

Like the way you've done your tone on tone stamping and used it for your sketch background panels. Your eye exam wear is so clever and your framing for your acetate sentiment looks so dimensional I thought it was actually metal. I had to enlarge on my screen to see how you'd intricately fussy cut and layered it! Fabulous job!

Love this. I have never mastered the art of collage and am in awe of those, like you, who piece together these pieces so artfully. May your New Year be filled with clear paths and decisions and your heart clearer still in its pursuits. Happy Crafting.

What a very creative and clever card! I love that sentiment and either "wink" or "blink," life does go by quickly! Interesting to hear about all the time you spent at eye doctors when you were young! Not fun, I'm sure.

Oh, I think this is just fantastic. I'm just plain old myopic, but DH had a lot of childhood visits, like you (but I think not surgery). Love your sentiment framed in one of those whatever they are called, and the vivid colour added in the washi tape is fab with the tone on tone panels.
