Happy 2020, my dear SCS friends! Looking forward to another great crafty year!
My 2019 was a success. As usual I tracked my cards in an Excel spreadsheet and guess what? I made 30% more cards in 2019 than in 2018. 866 cards to be exact. Lots of them were either gifted or sold to friends and family or donated to card drives or fundraisers. I actually only have 25 left in my stash right now. But my favorite stat? I also had a goal of sending more cards in 2019. I was so excited when I saw the number of cards I mailed out last year--365. That is a 53% increase in cards mailed. Quite by accident I mailed a card a day!!
My 2020 crafty resolution remains to use my unused stamps but I'm adding a twist of using up DP, embellishments, random treasures, old greeting cards waiting to be recycled, etc. I'm so excited to see everyone's 2020 cards!
This lizard was coming up on my list to be used and I thought he'd be fun. I went looking for fun stamp sets that would coordinate with him and wouldn't you know that these bicycle wheels fit perfectly with the sketch. I decided I wanted to sponge the large back panel and realized that I had this perfect stencil that I picked up recently at Tuesday Morning (yes, I'm addicted). Figured New Year's Day was a good day to use up some washi tape, so I grabbed a fun one for that strip. Then I had this perfect sentiment from a skateboarding CDD stamp set, but I couldn't fit it anywhere on the card properly. Had to tweak the sketch just a bit to fit the sentiment without it being awkward. Let the good times roll....

What a great resolution and how wonderful that you gained 53% in your endeavor. I think I will let your success inspire me to do a better job of mailing out cards. I did share many of my cards with my care team members at the church so that they don't have to buy the cards they send out. All of us are volunteers so mailing and purchasing cards can get costly. I think I will mark it on my calendar each day the cards I send out. Love this cute card and I know your cards bring many smiles wherever they go.
