When my friend and I were around 8 years old, my friend's father died in his sleep. I still vividly remember bopping over to her house to play, as usual, no phone call or anything, her mother met me at the door, I could see she was upset and Karen was sitting in her backyard, crying. What does one say at 8 years old? I had no concept of death. I still remember riding in a limo with her from the funeral to the cemetery. Can't imagine.
Very simple little card for Carson. I had started it at a stamping retreat, finally finished it, can't remember a lot of the supplies. Yes, I'm submitting for today's sketch, even though it's rather convoluted. It is turned on its side and I intended to put the little penguin over the M or e, but it didn't look right. The sketch is there somewhere, folks!

Very cute. I like the little penguin. Our DD collected penguin things for many years so we learned a lot about these fun creatures. I like the cut out Merry letters with the Christmas banner. Terrific design. Thanks for joining in the Sketch Challenge.

Oh, the neck stretch was wonderful as I spied all the elements of the sketch. It is such a cheerful card! CAS done so well.
The hint of what’s to come on the envie. Cool.
We’re never prepared in the ways of grief are we?

Cute penguin (and matching envelopes are always extra fun to receive. I like the aperture cut word - I got a Christmas card like that yesterday and want to remember to try something like it myself. The layout is super with the Christmas overlying the Merry.
