I don't own any pastels, so I used Perfect Pearls which have a powdery, chalk-like appearance in the jar. I used Dina's "Pastel Stencil Press" tutorial found here for the back panel. The Perfect Pearls give it a definite shimmer.

You've made a beautiful card with what you've got, you could use eye shadow instead of pastels that works too, but my motto is I do what I can with what I've got so this is perfect!!

Wow, I am envious of you and Anne already moving on to Valentines. I love making Valentines so I am anxious to get started on them too, but I have to get these Christmas cards completed before I can move on. I love your beautiful pink background for this. Maybe you have inspired me to sneak in a valentine today too!!

I'm glad you were able to capture a little of the shimmer in your photo, hard to do with Perfect Pearls. Looks great with that warm gold, too. Very Italianate, to me.
