Lisa is our hostess this Thursday, her great challenge can be found HERE.
I'd wanted for a while to try Dina's Pastel Stencil Press tutorial, so now was the perfect time. Plus, it's a two-for one technique, though I didn't finish my second piece in time to take a daylight photo. I'll come along with it in a while.
This uses the less detailed of the two pieces, with some Conte a Paris pastels scraped over it and brushed in.
I stamped and embossed the bird on white card, then coloured with chalks and added a coat of SN clear glitter pen - I think you can see some of the sparkle. The little branch is a magazine freebie cut from white Bazzill, and the berries were a tiny circle punch, shaped with a stylus. Parts of the bird (tail, wings) are popped up slightly with foam.
Oh, I also randomly stamped bits of a Judikins music backgrounder over the patterned piece, using Rangers Archival Mermaid Lagoon.

Terrific job with Dina's technique. I love the BG for your wonderful Peace bird. I am so happy to see you use that bird too. I have only used mine the one time and was hoping to see how you would use it. I am going to have to make a couple more cards with it for my mom so I need to start coming up with some ideas on how I am going to use it again. Thank you so much for the stunning sample.

Your bg is so pretty, Sabrina.....you've chose soft shades of blue and green-one of my favorite color combos. Love how your stencil mimics a windy day. Cute bird with the music sheet. The circle berries look like perfectly round beads; you did a great job with styling them~

Your lovely dove looks so nice against the swirls and hints of music in your background! A great Christmas theme and wonderful example of that technique! I just packed for a play day with my stamping pals and didn't pack any chalks. I better remedy that!

Ethereal and comforting! Your lovely panel makes me want to attempt this for the third time. This is one card you have to continue to look at it in order to discover the depth.
