Die cuts ornament
It took me a while to get happy with doing this technique. I am a messy artist, so I had gesso and acrylic paint all over my hands and my work mat. I couldn't find black gesso, so I darkened some with acrylic craft paint. I made a lot, so I had to seal off the excess with plastic wrap so it won't all dry out before I can use it. My die cuts are from an old stamp/die set with a peacock and paisley theme. I did manage to apply them with the gel medium. Next day I went to work on painting. I looked at the gallery and got a feeling for the look, then just mixed and applied the paints to get that vintage look. I was now getting happy with this project. After several applications with drying time between, I lightly rubbed highlight areas with my new Delicata Celestial Copper ink.
During one of the drying times I decided my doll houses could use some new ornaments for the holidays, so I dug out a package of SU Mini Ornaments Embellishments. Another post will show those.

I am thinking how lovely this is and so like the plants in your background. Those rhododendron buds are going to be beautiful next spring. And great job with your ornament.
