I had no real intention to include the sketch with yesterday's tea party for Jacqueline; as usual, everything happened organically. I named this the way I did because....I AM IN LOVE WITH THIS CARD! I can't help it.
This new to me Altenew stamp/die set was always going to be used. I wanted a old world look. I surely didn't want a hodgepodge of all 12 elements (oh, let's stick Santa there, oh don't forget the red), so it took a while to get all those elements in there. Kristina Werner did a background similar to mine, so that way, I could get all those colors in there. I stamped the globe stamp on my stash piece, as well as the sentiment (my additional item). I wasn't sure how to get Santa and the presents in there, but then I found this old world Santa and the old fashioned sled with present and there you go!
All the colors and every element is there. I love that it is balanced, doesn't look too disjointed and everything has a place. I think the shimmery striped background works so well with all of it. I put gold pearls on the Alsace region and Wisconsin (more or less). My family is from Alsace also, a combo of German and French.

Jean your twelve days of Christmas look wonderful in this old world splendor. It looks like you had lots of fun creating this. Such a clever combination of the challenges. Thanks so much for bringing this beauty to the teaparty. Jacqueline's Tea party gallery is magnifique!

I understand why you love this card, Jean. It has a lot of meaning. Love those bg strips of shimmer, the globe ornament is amazing in its own way. I really like the way your pine branches look with the holly & berries drooping over it~

Did you make one to keep in the JKanack library of inspired creations? Just stupendous. I love the old world muted colorway and that globe ornament is certainly a show stopper. I love you denoted the state and region.

Do what you love, say what you love! I love it, too, all so rich and full of Christmas awe. Santa's looking pretty proud of it, too. A treasure indeed for Jacqueline...and us.

Jean, J'adore aussi!!!
Every element is fantastic and your world bauble is amazing! Especially with the thoughtful inclusion of the gem location markers! what a very cool and inspiring shimmery background too. I'm thrilled to know you have roots in Alsace region and I know my Mom will be delighted as well!

What a super vintage card. The background caught my eye first, it almost looks like marquetry. But most of all I love the ornament. The little sleigh looks as if it could be another tree ornament. The muted foliage is beautiful. Isn't it rewarding to make a card you just love. Harder to send, though.
