This is the inside of my card for Kia's vellum challenge. (You can see the front at this post.) I backed a piece of green shimmer paper with Stick It adhesive, and die cut my tree from that. I cut another card base to 4" wide by 5-3/8" tall, and adhered my patterned paper & brown cardstock to the front of that. (The slightly smaller size gave me about a 1/8" border on both sides & bottom, with the fold adhered against the fold in the main card base.)
I adhered my tree, & punched and glued on a gold glitter star. I used double-sided tape to attach the back of this card to the inside back of my main card base. This way, I have a good place to write a message on the inside--behind the decorated panel, which flips up. Plus, the panel shows through the window on the front of my main card base.
