For our Falliday Fest for Peeps321 Challenge we were to make a card of tradition, and for the Ways To Use It, Sabrina challenged us to be inspired by a window like in a shop. Well, when I was a girl we would go downtown and look in the windows of Macys, and Bucks, our stores here. At Christmas there would be windows with gorgeous trees that the lights blinked, and trains moving around, and rocking horsed rocking. Don't laugh. I can remember being in my pink snowsuit looking and watching everything move. Do shops have windows like that at Christmas anymore? As far as I know , not here. They don't even have those stores anymore. I guess we do the same thing now, only we drive around and look at all the lights. One of our traditions. This is a set that I don't know if I have used much, only bought it for the rocking horse. This Christmas card is going to someone who collects rocking horses. Also this is for the Christmas card challenge and the Stamp2Spend challenge to make a Christmas card with an animal. Thanks for looking.

How smart is this! Five challenges in one card, and such a card with meaning. I remember store windows like that and to my knowledge, we still have some display windows like that in our area. Of course, we have two touristy towns nearby; Elora and St. Jacobs. I love the rocking horse.

Such a cute card Sharon. I remember those stores in the UK. They still have them in London. Those were the days. TFS. Happy day

Fabulous, Sharon. We had those kinds of windows in our Woodwards Stores here in Canada. The store is no longer in business, but the window displays are set up in another part of town in a convention center. Thanks for the memories!

That's how I remember the Christmas windows in our department stores. They do still have big Christmas displays, but sometimes it's hard to see the relevance to even the more commercial side of Christmas. I especially like the rocking horse, something we never had.
