Today Julie sent us to Acorn for some inspiration.
Last year I saw this card by Julie. I asked her if she would cut this cathedral frame for me, which she SO kindly did. I also purchased the DRS stamps she used & until now I've never used them! (slow on the uptake) So today when I saw this on the Acorn site, I knew what I was going to do. Until today, I'd forgotten this was a FS card that Julie did, so I guess this is really a triple challenge card!!
I trimmed a piece of Vellum to fit inside the frame, then stamped & masked the candles; then stamped the stained glass. Then using my micro pen I added more lines to fill the point of the window. The candles are colored with L&D Cherry Cobbler Stampin'blends, the flames are D Daff Delight & the glow is Crushed Curry that I sponged on. The frame is DTP Encore Silver. PHEW!!
Thank you Julie for your inspiration & for taking us to the the Acorn site.
Thanks for stopping by.

Just beautiful, Karen, (both yours and Julie's). I love the framing and everything else about this card. The window and candles are beauties.

I love all the red on your card. Great use of the frame Julie sent, and good job adding the additional lines to the top. You'd never tell they weren't part of the original stained glass image.
