Hello, this is my last posting for Dia de los Muertos! A celebration of the lives we miss and to celebrate our own gift of life. I bought the stamp on eBay, search Sugar Skull or eBay seller name: stampmill_rubberstamps88, for the red rubber Sugar Skull stamp image, full disclosure she is a good friend of mine who mfg's desert/ Southwest creature images, mostly. I really enjoyed using this stamp she sent to me and found many friends who wanted one of these cards, when I mentioned I was adding Dia de los Muertos cards to my fall collection, this year. : ) was nice to know so many friends wanted one.
This is a Sugar Skull image that I full page embossed with Sparkly embossing powder once all colored and die cut. I added Nuvo Crystal drops and also added flowers. glued the two larger flrs to the embossed surface and set middle flower up on a Pop Its 1/8" dimensional, to stand above the other two.
I used the 2 smallest flower dies from the S U Succulents die set to layer into a 'marigold' loosely imagined flower. Marigolds are the main flower of the Dia de los Muertos celebration.
I made a few of these for hand delivering to my friends, on the ones I U.S. mailed- I glued one small flower with orange marker circle (no pearl) in the center and wrote inside for them to 'fluff' the flower up for effect.
Hope you all enjoy your fall and the holiday fun of making these wonderful 'gifts' for our friends and family.
Pumpkin spice is everywhere and so I added this card to the Spice it Up Free for All challenge, with the fun Pumpkin Pie ink sponged onto the Crushed Curry paper to make these flowers a marigold coloring.
the Rough and Smooth challenge is included as the Sugared page is rough texture and the smooth Nuvo Drops and Pearls seem to fit the challenge
Also added to the Curry and Poppies in my Pie Color Challenge, as I used Crushed Curry paper for the flowers and Pumpkin Pie sponging on them to try to get closer to a marigold shade.
Thanks everyone, for taking your time to look and maybe view the other Dia de los Muertos cards I have on my gallery, in their own sub gallery. Feel free to leave a comment. : )
