I created this card for my SIL for her birthday. I made the pot & card base following the tutorial. I used a dark blue cardstock, and adhered the patterned paper on that with liquid glue for the base. I used the same blue cardstock for the band to hold the card (basically) flat when it's open. (The base does still pop up a smidge at the front & back, but that's OK.) I used green cardstock for the pot, to coordinate with the green in the patterned paper.
I die cut all 3 sizes of the "Blooms One" dies from scraps of red, orange, yellow, & white cardstocks. I also die cut greenery with 2 of the "Ferns" dies. I glued all the flower pieces together, adding liquid glue only to the flower centers, to keep the petals "fluffy." Finally, I used glue dots to stick the flowers & greenery to the acetate strips & around the inside of the pot.
I needed a place to put a "happy birthday" greeting, so I came up with the idea to make a plant poke. I stamped the greeting in Versafine ink onto white cardstock, & die cut it with one of the "Labels" dies. I cut a narrow strip of white cardstock, and glued one end to the back of my label. I die cut a second label & glued that to the back of the first, sandwiching the strip in between. Finally, I used glue dots to adhere the other end of the strip to one of the acetate pieces.
I stamped a secondary greeting onto white, and die cut it with another "Labels" die. I adhered that to the base piece with foam tape, though with the adhesive just under the left side, so the band could slip under the other end. This was a fun card to put together, & my SIL loved it!
