It's TeaPotter swap time! Can you believe it's the end of September? Our hostess this month has issued us a challenge to be inspired by bees or yellow and black. Thanks Jen, not only for the prompt, but also for being a teacher and nurturing students.
I took the literal way as I so often do! I love transferring words into art with inks, stamps, and fiddly bits. My card is base on the scripture from Proverbs 16:24.
"Pleasant words are like a honeycomb, Sweetness to the soul and Health to the bones."
This is a collage card. It began with picking the Basic Grey 'Urban Couture' DP. I added the honeycomb stencil, both the negative and positive to the corner edges. I used TH DO 'Walnut Stain' spray. After it was dry, I used the embossing folder to give more texture. The PSX honeycomb image was fussy cut. I used the Making Memories tiny type letters to stamp Pleasant Words and the. Sweet was captured from a Sweetheart stamp that I masked. And the Soul is part of a larger image from Limited Edition. A vintage Dynamo Label maker with sky blue tape added a bit of color and gave me the words 'as/a' and the number 2. Tiny staples. A vintage German scrap corner that I embossed with a glitter/mixed media powder in sky blue. Washi tape in random places completed my card.
I love that scripture. I am reminded how powerful our words are. And perhaps their worth is far more than any money.
Thank you for adding to these thoughts...I appreciate them with all my heart.

Such a pretty and well thought out collage....I really like how you incorporated the scripture into this card. The embossed and stenciled honeycomb is so neat and I love the beehive in the middle. What a creative card for one of your fellow Teapotters.

I don't know where to start. What a wonderful, arty, creative and inspiring collage. I love the many elements you used and techniques applied. Your description is as terrific as your card Susan. Ohhhh I can't wait to show Eunice.

Ha! I used the same beehive stamp inside my card. Your collage card is an example of what I aspire to create, and never can quite pull together with the intricate details you feast our eyes with. Beautiful verse and inspiration, dear neighbor. Still buzzing from our coffee date.

There is so much to look at here. I love the combination of honeycomb stencilling and embossing. I can't remember whether it's the negative or positive stencil I have, but I keep meaning to get the other one. I really like the way you snipped and cut the Dymo label. And I always love your use of staples. Interesting and unusual having the bee flying towards us.
