This card is for the Color Challenge today. This is the first time I have used this lovely image from Penny Black. These solid stamps can be a bit challenging to shade. I started by stamping the whole image in So Saffron ink, then used sponge daubers to apply some of the other two colors. I was getting texture from the sponge daubers that I did not like so I switched to Aqua painters to add additional shading, both to the stamp and directly to the image. I ended with colored pencils for some highlights. Finally I brushed on some Bermuda Bay ink around the image and added a hand trimmed greeting to cover a blob! This image is very large and I needed a 5 X 7 card for it.
