Cathy is our hostess this week for the "Let's Wing It" WTUI challenge, which you can find HERE. I actually made this masculine version a while back, when DH wanted to let his friend in Maine know that he would be visiting in August. He asked for a plane flying across the Atlantic...
So, wrinkle free distress, stamped the map and distressed the edges. Added it to a black base with a border doodled with a gold gel pen.
The plane was cut from mat silver card, layered with vellum in the windows. I drew a little green shamrock on the tail, to represent our national carrier, Aer Lingus. The compass rose was cut from matt gold, and has a brad through the centre.
TH cityscapes transport, compass rose, HFC Map on wrinkle free distress, with the edges distressed. Black base, border doodled in gold.

Awesome details on your card, Sabrina. I am thinking your hubby loves your cards as much as you love making them. This was the perfect card for him to send his friend. Hope he enjoyed the trip.

Another great masculine card and background, Sabrina! We're getting ready to send care packages to the college kids from our church and this would make a wonderful card to send along!

Love the Antique look of that map - I am not usually a fan of distressed edges but it really works for this image! I am catching the bit of embossing on your map piece almost like some braille with directional lines for the vision impaired.
