This past Friday, my youngest DD took her son and one of my other grandsons to the arcade and bowling. They wanted to wear some super hero costumes. You can get away with that when you are 4. The pictures were so cute, I had to put them in my scrapbook journal.
I really wanted to do my bg using the CAS550 brick wall challenge and I had also seen Sabrina's fabulous TLC759 An Uncomfortable Seahorse and I wanted to try to do a panel that was scrunched up.
Sabrina used Tyvek which I don't possess, so I thought if I embossed the paper first, it would hold up to scrunching. I heat embossed and then dipped in ink and then scrunched. It didn't hold up to well so I coated it in modge podge and that worked only there were already some bad spots by then. Next time, I will modge podge a layer and scrunch when it is almost dry.
After it dried, I thought it needed something so I added a gem and some micro beads. Looks a bit random, but I still like it.

Random is good! Nancy I love all the art, heart and soul you put into your scrapbook journal. Thanks for all the details, I love reading your process. Happy week my friend.

What great texture you got with your scrunching and embossing, Nancy. And what a super, inspiring journal page too. I like the microbeads.
p.s.as well as since mailing envelopes, the type of coveralls you get in the hardware/DIY store are often made of Tyvek too. And probably wouldn't cost much more than the 5 letter-size sheets I bought.
