Working on some thank-you cards. The frame for this is what provided the oval I turned into my Christmas Foliage card - embossed heavy white card and sponged liberally with assorted greens and browns.
The acorn was cut twice, I trimmed off the cup and embossed it in the lattice ef, then sponged both pieces with distress inks.
The squirrel was stamped on watercolour paper and coloured with Inktense pencils - I used white acrylic to dot the spots back into the toadstools. We saw plenty of grey squirrels in the Botanic Gardens yesterday - sadly the reds are almost extinct now. Edged both edges of the frame with Stickles.

So I have decided that in 5.5 years when I hope to retire, I will just start with the first card in your gallery and try all your creative ideas and techniques one by one...that should last me until I am over 100. I love how you embossed the cap of the acorn. The squirl is colored beautifully..i still have not tried that set of inktense pencils that I got when I was selling my sister's stuff. Fabulous fall creation.

I agree. Almost every card is a lesson in some technique to me. Or in how to look at things.
I love the red squirrels and I dont think I have ever seen a live one. We are drowning in the grey. The frame out with the acorn cap detail...very cool.

The colors on this especially that bg are just so yummy...the bg practically glows. And the squirrel and toadstools are so whimsical. A delightful card. My neighborhood actually has some albino squirrels and some that are totally black...every now and then I'll spot one or the other...I kind of think of them as a salt and pepper pair...although they're probably not "together"..lol
