This is for Lydia's fun mixed media challenge "Faux Reductive Painting".
The idea of this technique is to take a bright background, place on a mask, then go berserk with dark paint.
I am very attached to most of my 42,000 gelli prints so I went through my stash to find the dodgiest piece. I should have taken a before and after photograph, because this A4 gel print was dead set ugly.
I love how it turned out and it's going into my journal (as soon as it dries LOL).
Thanks very much for looking and I hope you get a chance to get inky this weekend.

Wow, would never have guessed that it was an ugly print. It looks amazing now. I am with you there with my prints. But I have been doing the #birgitkoopsengelprintingchallenge where I have been making gel prints every day. I don't just do one or two prints, so my pile of prints is getting pretty big. So I decided I needed to part with a few of them and use them on my cards. Glad you played along with the mix-Ability challenge today.

Beautiful, Susie. This is how trees should look when the leaves all fall off in the late fall and winter.....unfortunately, they don't. Super technique!

Very fun to look at and admire. This is why we never throw anything out. It's just waiting for its time in the sun, or in this case...the dark. Your creation is awesome, and I'd say a bit psychedelic and quite groovy.
I cannot imagine how the gel print could be "dead set ugly" but you sure made me smile! This turned out beautifully! I hope to play with the technique sometime soon!

Gorgeous, Susie. I like knowing how big it is. I have a couple of A4-ish stencils,. but not masks. I wonder if I used stencil glue on them? Thanks for the inspiration.
Yep, Ihad quite a few prints I didn't want to cover up either ;-).
