One of the things that Milwaukee is known for is cream city brick. Milwaukee is even called the cream city. It's a yellowish brick that was manufactured in Milwaukee years ago and used for many iconic buildings. Over time, the light colored brick got rather dirty, since Milwaukee was rather industrial, so many of the buildings have been sand blasted to bring them back. It's a very pretty brick when clean, quite a lot of texture.
This is for Monday's CAS (brick) and today's WT (thread). I used a stamp given to me to stamp the four rectangles and then I used a pen and ruler to draw the bricks in each rectangle. I shaded with graphite and tortillon to get a grungier look. I diecut the sunflower out of a background I had, added some glitters and put some thread under it for texture. I felt a copper cording bow and the sentiment 'shine' was in order.
I love sunflowers, we had several sunflower fields to visit in the area, but I'm very allergic to them. So much pollen!

Nice to see graphite being used, I always forget about my set. Interesting to read about the brick. I always like to see the local "colour" in stone and brick. What a beautiful sunflower die, and great way to use thread. Sunflower fields are so beautiful, I still remember the first time we saw them in France.

Goodness, all the above comments have dialed in your design so well! I loved learning about the bricks. The sunflower is beautifully understated. Hope that sunflower allergy is only to the pollen...a very creative design, mf
