Hello, TFL! Here in the SW we celebrate many festivities originated in Mexico or Central America. Dia de los Muertos, Day of the Dead, is one of those events. This gift bag (and cards I will be posting) are meant to Celebrate Life now and Celebrate the lives of those we miss and honor them with storytelling, gifts, music, etc. I have really enjoyed using this stamp that a friend of mine mfg's and sells on eBay. it comes in several sizes and different unmounted/mounting conditions, as you choose.
This box started as 7 1/8" x 12, scored along the 12" side at 1/4", 4 1/4", 6 1/8", 10 1/8". scored at 1 7/8" along the 7 1/8" side. cut tiny 1/4" x 1 7/8" piece off. score up the remaining 1 7/8" score marks. fold all score lines -adhere 4 " panel to the opposite side page Folded down 1/4" panel, and you will see how to finish assembling.
THE REAL FUN is the overall embossing with the Sparkle iridescent embossing powder, after all colored. it just BRIGHTENS the colors and adds that really great sparkly finish!!
I hot glued the flowers I soaked in Coastal Cabana ink diluted with water. added a few rhinestones at the bottom.
I added 'sugared' Unity flower stamp panels on the three other sides of the box. bringing flowers to our loved ones is a big part of the festivity! I only embossed the rectangle section of the flower stamp, so it bring extra attention to the sparkly area on the sides and back panels.
I added Nuvo drops on some other cards, and loved that little addition, too.

Love the gift bag using the sugar skull for Dia de los Muertos! The added flowers give it a great 3 dimensional touch and the flowers stamped on the side are a great addition! Love that the skull and flowers looks "sugary" and adds to the whole feeling of Dia de los Muertos! Instructions are very clear and easy to follow. Thanks for including the information about where to buy the sugar skull stamp.
