Thanks to Carla's challenge today, I finally made a basket weave card. And it's wicked easy! I've always thought they were pretty neat, but really not my style. But I'm sure I can find someone to send this to that will love it. To make it a little bit more me, I chose this bold graphic flower pattern DP and then colored my basket image in the same colors. I don't think I've ever used this image? Maybe once before. And I know I've never used this sentiment, but it was perfect for the image. Do you have those paper pads where you pull out the paper and there is a strip of a different pattern at the top of the page? Usually there is a hole punched in it. Well, this houndstooth was at the top of this page of paper and I thought they looked so good together that I had to cut a bit of that strip and add it to the card. By the way, this technique was so easy my Desmond made one too. Stay tuned for his card. He's not quite finished yet.
Now we're off to complete the other part of Carla's challenge--packing a lunch and going on an adventure. We're off to Edaville today. A little family theme park with a train ride through the cranberry bogs. It's a southeastern Massachusetts family tradition. I took three days off of work for a six day weekend and a fun sendoff to summer!

Beautiful card, Jen. I'm so glad you tried the basket weave, it's great with the pp and basket image. The bold pp and fun sentiment make it a Jen card Thanks for playing in my challenge.

Well, go you! I haven't even nerved myself up to trying that fancy cut yet. I know what you mean about not your style and yet finding someone to send it to who will like it. I feel like that when I make CAS cards - they're not what people expect from me and I tend not to send them, except sometimes there are people and a CAS card is just right for them. That sketchy-style basket of flowers is lovely, and the sentiment is indeed just perfect.
